Moma was picked up with a very adorable 8 week old puppy "Gypsy", who has since been adopted - now it's Moma's turn. Moma had been on her own for sometime and was fearful. She was protective of Gypsy and taught her well. Gypsy knew exactly when & where to hide. Moma was hard to convince to come with us, she and Gypsy out smarted us more than once. Moma is very cute, as you can tell from the picture - she is a must see. She is smaller than a laborador (shorter & slimmer). She does very well the dogs at the shelter and the staff. Her ideal home is one that understands she needs time to bond and a gentle hand, a home that will ensure she will never be a starving, scared dog in the woods again. Sandra Dee is very special to us so we are hoping for a great forever home for her. She was seen several times by motorists on the side of the road eating trash. When approached she ran away, but one day she didn't. When she came in she was emaciated/starving and had very little hair. She looked like she had a bad case of mange. It turned out to be be a horrible case of fleas, so bad she got an skin infection and temporary heart murmur. She is all healed and ready for a great new life.

Sandra Dee is very smart and such a delight to be around. Her past life was sad and scary, but she certainly does not show it. She is a happy, treat loving girl!!!

The ideal home is one that will want to make her part of their lives. She is a great companion or family dog. She does very well with other dogs and does not seem to mind cats.""Sandra is an Australian cattle dog mix, spayed and has been vaccinated for rabies and distemper/parvo. Sandra Dee is horribly scared in cars, and needs to be kenneled during car rides.

Gypsy lived in a culvert before coming to live with us. It was her safe place is a scary world. Her mom was fiercly protective of her when we were around. But the cold and predators were looming so she needed to be saved.

Gypsy is about 10 weeks old and is a lab mix, maybe some australian cattle dog in there. She has spots.

She needs a gentle, loving home that will give her lots of love. She is a little shy about people still. She loves other dogs!!!

Gracie & Marti are 2 of the most adorable and sweet Miniature Schnauzers you've ever seen. They can be adopted together or seperatly. Their owner recently passed away.

He is an adult male, as of today not neutered but will need to be before adoption. As you can tell by the photo his fur was recently shaved, when he came to us he was badly matted. But he is groomed now & feeling fine!

PET OF THE WEEK - MOO SHU

Moo Shu is a beautiful white German Sheppard. He came in with a very small 8 week old puppy that appeared to be a lab mix. He was very sweet & protective of "Sam". When we loaded them up in the car he just had to be with Sam. When we got to the shelter we put them in together. He let Sam eat his food & climb all over him. For the first hour we thought Moo Shu was female but after examining further we noticed he was male. Quite unusual behavior for a non neutered male, he was very maternal. Sam was adopted 2 days later to a great home and now we want the same for Moo Shu. He is now neutered with all shots and did great, he was very sleepy on the car ride back & was out of it for the rest of the night. But he was up and at 'em this morning trying to get his e-collar off. His adoption fee is $100 and we are looking for a home that appreciates his big heart and silly demeanar. He does well with most dogs, and seems like he would do well with kids. We don't have a video clip, but this photo is great & was our first shot of him, he was very easy-going.

Like many people who have & love pets, you wish you could save them all. If there is not an open spot in your home for one of animals than "Sponsor a Pet in need" may be for you.

Sponsoring a pet is simple. You donate an amount you are comfortable with for the care of our special needs animals. We put those funds away to be used only for specialized care. For example: If "Sweetie" has touched your heart and you want to help pay for her amputation surgery, or if "Max" is your favorite you can donate for his care while he is recovering. This fund is used only for those that come in with special medical needs or care. This allows them to receive much needed surgeries, heartworm treatment, medications, etc. Please note that funds donated will help go toward any of our animals in need now and those to come, not just one specific pet.

We have some great cats available for adoption. Rosa our "Adopt A Cat" spokesman is just one. She is the ideal lap cat, she is even declawed. All available cat can be seen on this blog. Scroll down and look on the right. What about inside/outside cats? Check out Willamena or Pupmkin. Ralph is our youngest, he is a sweetie! Adoption fees are $60. Every cat is spayed/neutered with shots.

ADOPTED - Poor little "Max" came in with mange

Max is a 9 weeks old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. Poor little guy came in with red mange (not contageous & easy to fix). We are starting treatment today and he will be ready for adoption once it is gone. He will make a great dog for some lucky person! Here he is in a pic & in a video clip with Oliver the "dog loving " cat. "Sweetie" recovering, donations needed for vet care!

"Sweetie" was hit by car last Wednesday. Her leg was fractured in so many places that it had to be amputated. Dr. Ingram of Justin was very kind to us & Sweetie when she was raced to his office only a few minutes after the accident. We are taking donations to pay for the amputation surgery she needed. Donations can be sent to City of Justin P.O. Box 129 Justin TX 76247. Sweetie will be healed and ready for adoption soon, give us a call if you'd like to meet her.
